If I'm doing basic editing and color correction - taking into account that this is a very old setup - how much difference does the CUDA really make? Does the Intel HD Graphic take part in the GPU as well? I'm a bit reluctant to go back to High Sierra (I'm afraid the Nvidia driver won't work etc.,) but will do it if it's recommended. Now if I got it right, CUDA is the accelerator and it's crucial for Resolve which is GPU-based. When I open Resolve I don't get any error message - it seems to be working as usual. I managed to find a workaround for the Nvidia Web Driver - but not the CUDA. Then I realized that CUDA is not supported anymore. Working with an external monitor.Ī couple of days ago I upgraded from High Sierra to Mojave because of calibration software (system requirement Mojave or later). I have Resolve 14 installed and create proxy files in optimized media before I do any edit. You may need to run a script to allow this version of the driver to be installed, head over to the MacRumours forums and search my posts there for help. As an Nvidia eGPU user stuck on 10.13. And in macOS Mojave (10.14), there still are no official drivers from Nvidia ( claimed that Apple does not want to sign the drivers) meaning users cannot upgrade to 10.14 even with unofficial support. I'm working on an old machine with the following specs: 10.13.1-10.13.6 all work but you have to use the correct NVIDIA driver '378.10.10.10.25.106' as newer versions (387) have issues with dual cards, 378 works fine. For Nvidia eGPU users on macOS did meant having to get around with unofficial support.
I know this topic has been previously discussed (I read some of the posts here) but I'm still not sure I got it right and would appreciate the word of experts.
